If he goes for Franz try to clear the infantry before shooting him. The enemy general will go either for the cav or Franz. Target the blob that will form with the mortars. Intercept the other units with Franz but do so within handgunner range. Run away with the cav when the AI splits its army and sends some units after your cav. At the moment you charge switch your mortars to target the closest swordsmen unit. Faint charge and then flank and charge the crossbows. Target the crossbows with the mortar and advance with the cav towards the enemy right flank. Take everybody off fire at will and put your ranged on guard mode. Deploy the infantry to the flanks of the handgunners but slightly behind them and (this is important) deploy the Reiksguard to the left on top of that road. Deploy in the center of the map not on the ridge but in front of the forest with the mortar in the center of your line flanked by handgunners to the left and right. Diplomacy will be a major source of money.ģ. Handle diplomacy using the quick deal function. So keep the barracks if you want crossbowmen early.Ģ. By comparison if you do destroy it you will not be able to get a lvl 2 barracks before turn 8-9 or later. Do not demolish the barracks - you'll get it to lvl 2 by turn 5. Once you recruited the noble upgrade Altdorf to lvl 2 - it should take only 2 turns (as opposed to 3). It doesn't matter if it's a Lector a General or a Huntsman but if you are picky go for the General as he will be overall more useful over the long term. Make sure you have a lord with the noble trait and recruit him in Altdorf. The rest is rather similar - especially the battles for Grunburg Ubersreik and Eilhart - 2 decisive and one heroic victory with zero casualties.ġ. This tutorial will describe what you need to do if you have a noble starting on turn 1 but it works even if you don't - it's just that 3 things will happen 1 turn later: you'll get Felix and Gotrek one turn later, you'll get access to crossbowmen 1 turn later and you'll fight Helmgart on turn 6 instead of turn 5. This tutorial is obviously for the current game variant (patch 2.1 + hotfixes) and I should add I have all the game DLCs just in case missing one might change something (I haven't tested without DLCs).ĭisclaimer: There are 2 ways of playing a Reikland campaign: with or without a noble from turn 1. I guarantee replicability at least on L/VH but I don't see why it wouldn't work on lower difficulties as well (especially the battles). This tutorial is based on 8 Legendary/Very Hard campaigns which I recorded and another half a hundred (!!!) which I played with Reikland. There is a video tutorial variant in the content creator (which I am not) section of this forum if you prefer watching instead of reading or if you are curious about how it works in practice. Simply as a preview: I found a way for you to fight and win those battles with 0 (zero) casualties. Obviously, this includes guides for the minor city battles for Grunburg/Ubersreik/Eilhart and Helmgart (if you are interested only in a way to fight those). You just need to get the very early game right and this will show you one way to do it. I know a lot of people are having issues with their Reikland campaigns but it's actually not a hard campaign. This will be a long read as it is a written tutorial. 2K A Total War Saga: Thrones of Britannia.846 A Total War Saga: Fall of the Samurai.
